Where Do I Find Good Arcade Games?

When considering arcade games the first thought that comes to mind is Fun! The second is childhood. Arcade Games loomed large in childhood, but for many of us those golden years have never really ended! The 1980s are considered by many to be the golden age of arcade games. This is largely because this is the time that gave birth to the genre, so it has a very real air of both innovation and innocence about it in terms of the games that came out of that period. And thinking about the subject of Where do I find Good Arcade Games? simply would not be complete without a look at that time period.

The period around the 1980s saw the emergence of some of the most popular arcade games EVER,. Beginning with games like Space Invaders which made its world debut in 1978. Pac-man in 1980, and Donkey kong in 1981 being amongst the most popular. Its hard to think back now that there was a relative scarcity of choice regarding the games that you could play (however good they were). When you consider that some of the free arcade sites on the internet now have over 1500 different arcade games. So, its quite mind boggling how far the industry has come in such a short space of time.

There are a lot of websites on the internet today that offer free arcade games that are easy to play, keep scores and make your time on the internet a lot more interesting. Today you can find classic arcade games on the internet everywhere. You can find arcade games that run on hand held computers, arcade games that use emulators to create that classic feel, and gaming consoles like the Playstation and xbox.

The latest generation of arcade video games now has much more interactivity built in as part of the game design, so that the game play is much more involved and you feel more a part of it. Though in truth, I dont feel any of them have quite caught up to the impact that space invaders had when it first came out ;)

The new Playstation and Xboxs are now amongst us, and with these latest generation gaming machines you get to take gaming to a whole other level. The question of finding good arcade games is then a tricky one, because in large part it requires you to define exactly what you mean by arcade games. If you mean an enormous box like machine that you play in an amusement arcade, then you really are still better off going to the seaside. You will see dozens of arcades that still specialize in them. But if you are referring to the true emotion of great gameplay, then these days you are better off with one of two choices. Either playing computer games on your computer (which are becoming more powerful by the month), and secondly playing games via dedicated game consoles. Both have advantages and disadvantages. The dedicated gaming machines tend to have better playability and graphics, but for now at least the games on the computer platforms tend to have much larger community bases (World of Warcraft for example). So if it is interactive gaming that you seek, then you are better off sticking to a PC.

Either way, the message is simple. Keep playing! (Click the links below for weekly updated gaming information.) The technology is constantly improving, and so will the experience of gaming.. Nothing may ever beat Pac man ;) But theres no harm in trying ;)

What Exactly Is MP4?

You know most of the time you find yourself downloading all kinds of stuff, including mp4s, mp3s and the like, but what about the technical end of it. What is MP4?

Mp4s or rather the term mpeg-4 was developed by ISO (International Organization for Standardization). It is a format specific for multimedia, the most common uses are for digital audio and video, and it is a certain type of container that holds all this information. It can contain other data as well such as subtitles and still images. You should also note that mpeg-4 is identical to QuickTime MOV format. In fact any kind of data can be inserted into MP4.

MP4 is getting more and more popular. In fact, it is now very popular to people who use the latest iPod players and PSP owners. This type of file compression is now providing a way to store dvd quality movies at a very small size. This type of file compression is known as the MPEG4 format.

Because most users may get confused at the initial concept of what MP4 is, it is what is in the MP4 that is even more confusing since the extension has been used primarily for music tunes and not movies. Therefore, what is stored in an MP4 is more than you can imagine for the most part. In addition, those other extensions have been used for MP4s, (which is audio from an iTunes store), to m4a (which includes such things as chapter markers, images, and hyperlinks). In addition, of course m4b (which has the ability to work with IPODs, where m4a files cannot. So most of the time when you find a file with the extension of mp4 or m4v, then they have both the audio and video aspects.

Let us not forget of course that they can contain codecs as well. Therefore, as you can see there is much to learn about what MP4 is, so let's summarize;

MP4 Can include and contain audio, video and also still images (like pictures), and all kinds of other data, making it a diverse file to use.

MP4 can contain other types of competing technology e.g. ogg, vob, ratdvd, divx media format, Matroska (mkv) and others to name a few.

In addition, how about some of the compatible hardware or software that mp4s can work with? Such as in software: Amarok, Banshee music player, 3ivx, foobar2000, GOM player, iTunes, media player classic, QuickTime player, Realplayer, VLC media player, and so forth, as for hardware: Kiss 1600, apple iPod, PSP (playstation portable), Playstation 3, xbox 360, Nokia.

Therefore, to answer the question what MP4 is, well, it is technology at its best!

Indeed, the MP4 technology can now make entertainment much more convenient than ever before. So, next time you think of downloading your favorite movies to your computer to transfer to your portable multimedia device, try thinking of MP4. just make sure that your multimedia devices are capable of reading the MP4 format.

Seasonal Fitness Solutions For Everyone

Seasonal fitness is very common with the general weekend warriors and serious fitness gurus. In fact, seasonal fitness provides variety as a host of new and exciting routines opens up to each and every one of us with changes in the weather. A great example is outdoor exercising. Not only is this influenced by the seasons but also geographically. In the west you can just about workout outside every day (some exceptions for rain of course). On the east coast you can certainly choose to run in sub 30 degree weather but most will choose not to do so. We like to think of this as the attraction factor. The attraction factor is critical as it helps to setup and thus manage ones enthusiasm towards repeatable exercising and adherence to your overall life fitness goals.

How often do you see the Television Ads where the healthy ads always seem to be on location somewhere near Los Angeles? Its not by chance its a fact that everyone thinks of california as the healthy state (Florida is right in there as well of course!). The land of the creative and fortunate to have been born/raised or moved to the sunshine have almost too many choices for outdoor activities year round. Sometimes this leads to being overwhelmed and it can create a failure to start or implement a fitness program.

Bike riding is probably one of the most misunderstood levels of exercising. People think they need a top of the line product to achieve maximum performance and results. Hardly, find yourself a solid bike within your budget. Then find a course around your neighborhood that offers challenges (hills) and enough soft landings to properly maintain 30 minutes of solid riding. Bike riding can achieve much better results than just walking. We recommend this above and beyond walking if its feasible.

So, what to do when we are less than fortunate to live in a year round warm climate? You can invest in a home gym for starters and we have lots of information on our corporate web site for ways to research these options. There are also the private gyms, local community centers and all offers some level of performance that should be a good enough fit for your needs. Swimming indoors is just as effective as outdoors. All across the US and europe there are choices available to swim year round. Swimming is a great way to tone and maintain great body fitness with the least amount of muscle wear and tear.

In Todays world there just isnt an excuse not to exercise. Move that body and get yourself in shape to lead a healthy life style way into your later years of life. Todays retirees have an enomorous task as their once beloved pensions and healthcare solutions are not what they had hoped. We can all take a step in the right direction by getting ahead of the health curve and get in shape early in life. Its never too late! Make sure you combine a healthy eating plan as well. Exercise requires solid fuel intake and a well balanced meal plan. In addition we strongly believe is a good (twice a day) natural supplement program. We like adding almonds and Mona Vie Internationals acai berry juice to our daily plan. It provides a safe and healthy way to achieve 100+ percent of the RDA for our vitamins and antioxidant needs (and then some when it comes to the benefits of the Acai Berry!).

Home Wireless Networks

A home wireless network can be set up using wireless local area network (WLAN) devices. A wireless lan has a wireless interface that enables wireless communication amongst the computers and peripheral devices that are a part of the lan. A wireless lan has limited range and is designed to be used only in a local environment such as a building, office complex or home. The main advantage is the flexibility and mobility provided by a wireless lan.

A wireless home network can be installed easily by connecting a wireless router to the network. The router must be placed in a central location within the home. Computers which are placed close to the router, or in the same room as the router, receive better network speed. Most wireless routers support broadband modems while others support phone line connections. Each computer connected to the wireless lan must have a wireless lan card installed.

It is mandatory to name the wireless network and to ensure that all the computers on the WLAN share the same network name. Though a wireless router contains a built in access point, one may have to use a wireless access point if an existing ethernet home network is extended. The access point must be cabled to the switch, hub or lan router.

Unlike cellular networks with fixed frequencies, users in WLANs have to share frequencies, which sometimes lead to collisions. The choice of frequency depends on whether microwave, spread spectrum, or infrared communication is being used.

The primary WLAN standards include the IEEE-802.11 series and HiperLAN. The IEEE-802.11 (Wi-Fi) standard supports 1 Mbps data rate and several choices of physical medium such as spread spectrum and infrared. An additional feature of this standard is the battery conservation for inactive or idle wireless users. Faster 54 Mbit/s 802.11a (5 GHz) and 802.11g (2.4 GHz) standards are now available. New standards beyond the 802.11 specifications, such as 802.16(WiMAX), are currently being developed and offer several enhancements such as longer range and faster transfer speeds.

The HiperLAN standard can be used to support 23.5 Mbps channel rates. However, it allows use of only spread spectrum physical medium and is not very popular.

The Benefits of the Wireless-N Router

The wireless N router provides many benefits of the previous G technology. I am pleased with some of the features that the manufacturers are adding to their offerings. In this article, I will highlight the following features: usb 2.0 ports, file-and-print server capability, and the 5-Ghz spectrum.

A great addition for the wireless-N router is the usb 2.0 port. This port allows you to do some creative things with your router and network that you have not previously been able to do. For one, you can now simply plug your printer into the router and give it wireless capability. The benefit gets stronger when you go out and try to find a color inkjet printer less than a hundred bucks that has built-in wireless or even a network port. Additionally, most network-capable printers today are wireless b/g printers only.

The file-and-print server is a welcomed addition to wireless-N router. As discussed above, you can now plug a color inkjet printer that costs under $200 into the usb 2.0 port and give it wireless capability. The file-and-print server functionality goes farther than that though. Now you can also attach a usb hard drive to the router to create a file server as well. As the term file-and-print server denotes.

Lastly, the 5-Ghz spectrum puts you in a relatively un-crowded space so that you can get better performance out of your wireless connections. The more devices in your home or office on the same wireless frequency, the more likely you are to have a degradation in performance or flat out dropped connections due to interference.

In conclusion, the wireless N routers are bringing to the wireless technology landscape some nice new enhancements that make our networked lifestyle more flexible.
